夜、iTunesの聞かなくなったファイルをゴミ箱に入れる作業をしながら考えた。ゴミ箱を共用することはできないのだろうか？ レコードなら聴かなくなれば売ることができる。そして誰かの手に渡る。そうやって人から人へと渡り歩くことで、レコードはこの世から完全に消えてなくなってしまうことからまぬがれている。しかし、データファイルは簡単に消えてなくなる。レコ屋で中古盤を探すように誰かが聴かなくなった音楽ファイルを共用のゴミ箱で探し、欲しいものがあれば無料でDLできる。そんなシステムは実現できないのだろうか。

確かに．「ゴミ箱」というメタファーがよくないのかもしれない．「データを消す」ということと，「モノを捨てる」ということは違う．
